Power Electronic Maintenance

Power Electronic Maintenance (PEM) services and maintains power systems spread across the entire SLAC site. It operates with three-shifts to provide around the clock coverage seven days a week. PEM's mission is to provide rapid, high quality, pro-active maintenance for power electronics systems located throughout the site. PEM personnel do not just maintain the operating accelerators. It is also a major source of technical help for the R&D projects undertaken by the Department. It furnishes design, maintenance, fabrication, and installation technicians in a variety of circumstances.
